Got a xerox of a TM10 off ebay for $50.... but its missing the front cover.

All I can say so far is that its NOT TM10-1461 (Panel Truck)

I can say its from 1942. Will be scanning it in and posting it here.... TM10's for Chevys are kinda uncommon. Now that I've said that I'll come across a dozen of them :D

TM showed up today. No TM markings or dates. :(

Its an early book, the cab photos show the dash with no publications pate, and with a keyed ignition.

Is there any way to tell what the TM would be by a specific part or page of info? EIther way I'm glad I have it... I have the tranny/transfer/engine info I need. None of that is in the TM9s.

It is possible that it is not technically a TM 10. Does the title page say "First Edition" right above the General Motor Division text? I have two "Maintenence Manual"s which are clearly precursors of the TM 10 line of manuals. They actually have a price on the cover of $1.00

Does it include a section on the data plates, including the serial number and load data plate? If so, what is the make and model year? What is the contract number??

Yes, there is a paragraph on "SERIAL NUMBER and LOAD DATA PLATE.

On page DRIVERS INSTRUCTIONS O-4

The Serial number in the data plate photo is blank, but the other info on the data plate is:

Make and Model Chevorlet 1942 G 7116
The contract number is W-398 - qm - 10328

Does that help any?

Ok, now we're getting somewhere... precursor manuals show a make and model of "Chevrolet 1941 - G - 4112" and no mention of contract number. That would seem to point to an actual TM 10-*. Now turn to Section 13 - Auxiliary Equipment...

What equipment does it list (look on last page of section 13, for a list of "Equipment Specifications"), and how many pages??

My TM's are:

TM 10-1127, Models G-7105, G-7106, G-7107, G-7113, G-7116, G-7117, G7127, G-7133, lists Power Tsake-offs, Winch, and Hoists, 26 pages.

TM 10-1203, Models G-7163, G-7173, lists Power Take-off (only one), Winch, Pillow Block, and Earth Borer, 33 pages.

If it's NOT one of these two, the Aux. equipment listed should tell us which group of trucks it's for.
