Dug up some pics of my trucks SN. I was wondering why my SN was not showing up in the TM10-1562.

Here's the best shot of the SN:

Since the last digit is not clear... here's another pic:

I read that to be: CCKW353 237321 - 1

The tag on the cowl is rusted and unreadable.

So the TM10-1562 says my contract # is W-374-ORD-2597 or W-398-QM-11595 and lists CCKW353-233779 through 276396 (thats my truck)

The leads me to the Vehicle Identification page and the second row from the bottom:

CCKW-353 Serial No. 233979-H1 to 242445-H1

Says my truck should be a dumper?

I'm really not seeing the H on the frame rail.

A truck with JUST a -1 would be a split axle (it is) truck with NO body.

I'm at a loss. I have the TM telling me its a dumper by the frame SN, yet the SN itself says its just a cab/chassis combo.

I do see errors in this table... the second row from the top lists CCKW-353 Serial No. 243306-2 to 243851-2 as SPLIT axle, no body. Yet the other SNs that end in -1 are all split, and the ones that end in -2 are all banjo.. except for that one line where it ends in -2 yet it's listed as a split axle.

My shift placard mentions NO dump or winch lever positions.... and I doubt that my truck is on of the rare 1300 dumpers without a winch.

Oh well, its gonna be a cargo truck... no way I look for all the bits to make it a dumper. Plus I really like wood cargo body.
