NEW RUN OF DECALS in the works

Postby pfarber » Wed Jun 20, 2018 11:33 am

After a ton of requests I've decided to refresh the decals and add new ones.

First, I have enough G506 and early CCKW decals left over from the first run that I can add new decals.

I need more deep sump oil pan caution decals, so they are getting redone.

New decals will include:

Hydrovac Decals (CCKW 1st and 2nd series) - still researching these but I have some good data.. if anyone has ANY photos/documentation of hydrovac decals PLEASE let me know. I'll spot you some free decal sets in exchange.

Walker Jack Decals - I really want to do these but I don't think there are 250+ walker jacks out there to even sell these. I have photos of the decals, but for the size of the decal it will eat a HUGE chunk of the sheet.

Timeframe should be 3-4 months depending on the artwork. The font of the 'vac decals most likely will need to be recreated.

The series one hydrovac decals (or at least two of the three) should be about ready to use. We hashed this over clear back in 2012??

Series 1 is not the big issue. The second series is. I have photos from an M-20 and a Bendix manual and that's really all I have. So I am am not 100% confident they are factory correct. Even the two Becker CCKW books never show a Hydrovac with decals. So I am going off what I would consider secondary sources.

Also the number of Series 1 vacs would be minuscule compared to Series II and III.

I'm just hopeful the graphic designer can get the fonts right. They are unique to say the least.

I already did the artwork for the series one?? Do you have pics of the series two?? you sent me a zip file several years back with pictures (from Germany??) I treaked fonts for the series one and can do the same for series two and three if we can come up with decent pictures. Please excuse the crappy Shutterfly pixelated images. They look much better than that!

That is the artwork I have also.

I am trying to figure out the Series I/II GMC/Chevy stuff. I did find some hints in my books. I'll post what I think is right online before I send in an order just to get some feedback.

Should have artwork done in July and print in August.
