Guitar Mystery SOLVED!!

I've had a Gibson clone for a few years and never knew much about it. Other than perlite 'S' on the head there is not much to it. Well, I figured out the S stands for Samick.. an Asian OEM for Gibson, Fender and just about ever other guitar maker on the planet.

My Nov 2000 Samick Gibson clone is a lower end model as its got a base finish and no labeling other than the inset 'S'. But as my recent Fender Strat purchase has shown me I prefer the Gibson style more than the tiny necked Fenders.

So my brown and blue (yeah, brown and blue) double humbucker Gibson clone finally knows its roots. I think I paid $100 for it a few years ago. It has been worked on as it has Gotoh (a Japanese company) machine heads (I doubt they would be standard on a Korean make, low end guitar), the electronics bay is foiled (for RF) and the screws are brass.

I like it, I would sell my Strat before I sold my Gibson clone.. I just am not thrilled about those skinny fender necks.

Machine heads.. locking! Quite an upgrade for this MIK guitar. Note SN at the top... YYMMXXXX

I haven't checked the Pups to see if they are upgraded... but the wiring cover is foiled and the electronics have Korean symbols. All look original. Wires are all shielded to.
