I think my CCKW has its original motor.

I was looking up some CCKW parts online to buy and one item (dipstick) made me look at some engine info.

The Production deep sump oil pan started at 270-266551 (The SNL lists it) and both the Sunderlin and Doyle books can only partially date it (no solid references) other than planned production was to start in May, 1943.

So my motor number is: 270-351136

And my frame number is: 353-237321-1

So that puts them about 113000 off (but with spares, motors taken out for DUKW production etc its easy to account for 100k motors in the 2-3rd year of production). The motor is clearly a 4th Series motor, and the chassis has all the proper radio filters (you can somewhat date the chassis by weather or not it has the firewall mounted RF filters). Also TM10-1563 lists my chassis number.. that's the May 43 TM10.
I got a Mountain Cur and a ~~pitbull~~ big loveable cuddle puppy
