$2500 and right down the road.

There were some 'better' trucks out there... but hauling them back to PA would double or triple the price.

Here is the link to the ebay pics

Any thoughts???

Congratulations! Yours came much more quicly than mine. I looked and looked, but refused to spend 2-3 times more than the cost of the truck just to have one shipped. I finally found mine 15 miles from home, and the price was VERY reasonable too.

Congratulations again!

I really just stumbled across the auction while browsing. I had a snipe set up for $3001.99 but after I bid the $2501 it never moved.

Its not going back into military trim. But civilian colors.. I *REALLY* like the 30's two tone paint (like black fenders and green/burgundy body). But since the fenders are nowhere near as sexy as the civy trucks I may just go all gloss green with black accents. I *really* wanted a late 30s ford 3/4 or 1 ton... but they were too spendy.

Wonder if I can get 7.5x20s in white walls

I could have gotten a pair of trucks from Cali... or even a very original (bed and gas tank and tire carrier and all) from TX... but like you said.... $3/mi shipping makes a $2000 truck a $5000 truck in the blink of an eye.

Plus I remember a guy DID make a G506 bed... they are small enough to not need super specialty presses... maybe....

Davey boy (I think) built the bed. I have drawings I made from my bed if you decide to go that route. What type truck was it before the tipper bed was added??

It think it was always a 7106 as the rear frame is cut right after the spring hangers. I didn't even ask about SN's or data plates.

If it looks good in civvy paint, It'll go that route. But the engine and as much of the rest will be proper G506 as I can make it... but after a GPW, and hunting down all the CCKW parts I really dread the hassle of scouring the internet for Chevy parts.

If all else fails, and it turns out to be a huge mess, then I have some spare body parts for the CCKW, and a parts truck to part out. But since it doesn't have any of the most commonly missing parts I don't see much $$$ in parts. I figure that I could make about half my cost back.
