HOW TO MAKE YOUR GOVERNOR HAPPY

"... Do not install your Governor upside down, there is only one way that is correct, and that is with the Adjusting Screw Cap facing to the Firewall, and located nearest the Rocker Arm Cover. The tear drop shapped (sic) operating spring housing cover will also be facing the Rocker Arm Cover. ..."

Hey, meatball... hows about just LOOKING AT THE ARROW CAST INTO THE GOVERNOR BODY? You know, like the TM says? The arrow points to the carburetor side. Since the King Seeley governor is used in other trucks, they put an installation arrow on it. TM9-801 pg 205 para 96(c).

3... 2... 1... DUH

He swears to live and die by the Technical Manuals... I *REALLY* don't think he's ever read one, and maybe doesn't event OWN one.

I hate to kick a brother when he's down... but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Going WWWAAAYYYYY BACK to 1941: TM10-1501 page 12-10108 "Removal and Installation":

"Outside of the governor housing is marked with an arrow indicating carburetor side... "

SSSHHHH!!!!!! The arrow thingy is a BIG SECRET! Lets just keep it to ourselves.
