Errr, I'm slightly confused by this truck, which looks a mixture of a 352 and 353 ?

Its not uncommon for CCKWs to be modified by the Army and NATO recipients.. If you look in the Tankograd CCKW Cargo truck book pages 11 (a halftrack front and 353 rear) and page 14 (a 353 open cab and 352 spare tire carrier/gas tank rear). The book 'The GMC A Universal Truck' is full of modified truck.. mostly done for civilian post war service. Most mods were French or Israeli... they seemed to play with the trucks the most.

There are two possibilities.

Its just an extra gas tank mounted on a 352 bed.

OR

It could be that the bed is actually a dump body, but with a 352/3 bed and not the proper dump bed. I say this because the rear splash guard is not mounted on the underside of the bed, but low on the frame.... like a dumper model (they are mounted via a spring that is bolted to the bed sill). There WAS ONE prototype 352 dump truck made. In 1942 IIRC.
