Found two sisters!

Postby pfarber » Wed Mar 25, 2009 10:47 pm

In CA looking over and documenting the trucks at Mr. Privats place.

I find a CCKW-353 open cab.. nice shade of yellow. Data plates shows SN 255704-2 with a DoD of 5/43.

On the chassis, is just a cab, a nice shade of red. Data plate shows SN 257431-2 DoD 5/43.

Thats only 1724 numbers apart. That would put production on the same week (typical CCKW production was ~ 12000/mo or ~3000/wk or ~500 a day). So thats two trucks less than a week, more like 3 days apart.

What are the odds???

I have pics, and will post then when I get them edited.
I got a Mountain Cur and a ~~pitbull~~ big loveable cuddle puppy

That's like finding two Garands with serial numbers very close. :)
Like to see the photos. Thanks, Roger
