Ok, many people claim that CCKWs were called 'Jimmies'. Yet there no one has any proof in a publication, picture, book, magazine whatever.

Your American folk history books would tell you that 'bessie' was a common name for COWS. Cows were common beasts of burden on poor farms (they were more useful than an OX that did not produce any milk) and many films do refer to early cars as 'bessies'

Still not 'Jimmy'.
