Of the three (!) Chevys I have I see that the running boards are stamped with a 'line' pattern.. like small beads.

CCKW running boards are more diamond-plate-ish with what look like little nubs.

So, whats factory correct?

Here's what I have, and its from the SNL-G-506

Did it ever change to the same style as the CCKW?

Chevy running boards are nearly identical to their civilian counterparts. They are ribbed, and not diamond patterened. Mine are pretty bent up, but upon inspection I realized that they have a small rounded cut out, hidden on the front edge of the running board. This rounded cut out matches exactly the fender cut-out on the civilian running board. If you take a civilian running board, and cut off the front end, you should be able to fabricate a running board. The running board will still require the top extensions (either remove them from your existing running boards, or fabricate them). You'll also need to create the notch on the passenger side for the fuel filter access. Sounds like some pics and a couple of drawingsmay be in order here...
