I built my own cargo bed

Postby daveyboy » Sat May 15, 2010 6:01 am

For those of you who may not visit the other CCKW/CHEVY releated sites on the internet, I thought i would post the link to the construction of my new chevy G506 cargo bed, early war, all steel design.

As I see a lot of effort put forth on this forum by Paul, I thought a little cargo bed discussion on the chevy side might be interesting.

I built this myself, from scratch, and used my original bed for reference during the build.

I used my original forged type tie down hooks, the rounded stly front bed corners, and the tool box latching harware. Thats it the rest is all brand new metal.

take a look!

BTW>. I submitted an article to Army Motors. Hopefully they will print it someday

Outstanding work.

One thing that has really hampered any progress toward CCKW 353 beds is that steel sheet is not available in the proper length to do the sides.

Great job.
