Mid 43 wood cargo bed!
Posted: Sun Nov 09, 2008 8:59 pmScored a mid 43 cargo bed off a nice gent with one to spare. Wood was shot, but all the brackets were there.. tailgate and all!
The CCKW was SN CCKW-353 166xxx-B1 (I forgot to write it down, but did remember the 166xxx). Was an un-restored and relatively un-molested truck. Even had the early type II vac with the air cleaner still mounted at the vac. No gas can/tool mounts on the running board and the exhaust pipe exited at the driver side from splash guard. The biggest suprise was that there were only 1 door latch (the upper one). My truck is SN 202xxx so this truck was one 3-5 months older than mine. Sweet! My girl has a buddy back on the West coast!
Was a very nice winch truck. I hope to go visit her again for more pics and also get a better look at the Wood Ben Hur out there.
