I have read the forum info on engine paint colour ( note correct spelling ) and it seems to be a light green olive colour.
I was wondering if you google search the British Paint codes....BS 381.C and put in number 225.. "Light Brunswick Green " does that colour come close to your views on what is correct...i am about to paint my engine and ancillaries and want to get it correct...is the oil filter ok in Grey ?

Kind regards from a very wet England

That Brunswick Green is much, much to green.

The odd part about the GMC Olive engine color is that I have never found mention of it in any paint code book. The Chevvy motors have paint chips, but not the GMCs.

If you read this thread:

The kinda agree on PPG 45244 Beechcraft Olive Green as 'perfect' but from that photo it does not look like what every other vendor is called Original GMC olive engine paint.

As for the oil filter, gray. I use New Ford Gray. Get an enamel if you can.

I'll take my painted valve cover to a local auto paint shop and see if they can match it.

I am working through some UK options... i have sprayed up my rocker cover in RAL 6003 Olive green...which is getting close and i could live with that,,,so i will be interested to see what you come up with.
My paint supplier will scan any colour from sample or photo for £33 /$50 which is enough......

If the paint supplier can do a color match, is there a 'generic' specification that I can ask for? I'm sure if I say 'RAL' I'm gonna get some blank stares.

I'll see about a color swatch... but I believe that it needs to be done on special type of media.... so until I find out what that is I'll let the paint place see what it comes up with.
