CCKW vs Pickup truck.
A Frackville, PA man was injured earlier this week in Schuylkill County when his pickup truck collided head-on with a decommissioned military truck that was part of a convoy en route to the World War II Weekend at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum.
James B. McCauley, 53, was treated in Pottsville Hospital following the crash just before noon at the intersection of Routes 61 and 895 in West Brunswick Township, according to state police.
According to local authorities, McCauley, who was driving north on Route 61, tried to stop for a red light at Route 895 but his brakes failed. He turned right at Route 895 to avoid going through the red light and struck the military truck driven by Sheila I. Zelaskowski, 40, Newton, N.J., who was turning from Route 895 onto Route 61.
Witnesses said the GMC CCKW military truck was part of a five-vehicle convoy en route from New Jersey to Berks for the re-enactment this weekend. It was driven from the scene.
The pickup truck had to be towed away.
Who says the hydrovac and leather seals are better than anti-lock disk brakes?!?!
