Jeeps falling out of favor??

I noticed that there is now a specific 'jeep' category and it seems to be chock full of items for sale.
Some rare (GPA's) but most are run of the mill jeeps of various calibure.
I know the golden age of jeeps was around the late 1990s-2000s... is the little jeep in its decline??
