Another quality Jeep vendor part

Shitty Jeep vendor shit almost left me stranded. I bought a oil line (block to oil press line A-1198) from a Jeep vendor in NJ. Supposed to be good stuff, made in the USA.

Shitty Jeep vendor lie.

The swaged fitting literally fell apart. The barrel (the small brass tube) is held inside the hose by the swaged fitting. BOTH ENDS came out like this. No kidding. This is after I brazed the end shut.. that's why it looks black.. the flux and brazing rod discolored the tip of the barrel.

Since I didn't have a spare I brazed the end shut and reinstalled on the block.

I lost over half my oil (I shut the motor off as soon as I saw the smoke)

I think I'm gonna have a local hose shop make a new hose if they have the proper fittings. All Jeep vendors use the same garbage parts... no way I give them another $15 for a garbage part like this.

Keep a spare line or a plug for the line in your jeep.

This is what needs to be added.. a hose barb. These fittings are like $1.50 each.
