Vintage Video.. never again

Postby pfarber » Fri Jan 28, 2011 6:37 pm

I just purchased a DVD from Vintage Video's "GMC 2 1/2 Ton 6x6 Truck" dvd. Says its '390 frames 79 minutes long'.

Well, its a series of 5 slide projector film strips from 1941 (maybe 1942). The only reason its 79 minutes long is because of the random pauses on each slide. Some slides hold for 15 seconds, others for only 3-5, and it doesn't seem to matter what ON the slides, the timing is random.

The subject matter pertains to the VERY early trucks (vacuum advance dist, dual oil filters, no frame mounted fuel strainer etc) so if you have a very early (less than SN 41000) this dvd *might* interest you.

I am completely turned off by the Vintage Video collection. This is my second DVD from them and I was going to hope for the best, but I got the worse.

Avoid the GMC series from them unless you simply want to collect everything with the words 'CCKW' on them.
I got a Mountain Cur and a ~~pitbull~~ big loveable cuddle puppy

Thanks for the warning, I had been thinking about buying this, I shall now avoid.

Cheers
