There is a guy in Poland selling CCKW data plates. Great. We need quality vendors. BUT the data plates for the CCKW OPEN CAB W/O wench (ie my truck) show 20wt oil for summer use. Nothing I have ever seen shows 20wt oil as the correct summer weight. 20wt oil craps out at 60F... not very summer like.

Heres a copy of the plates....

As I pretty much knew these data plates are screwed up.

All the other plates are good, but the oil weight is just plain wrong.

Here is a more definitive answer from http://www.g503.com/forums/viewtopic.ph ... 802#711802

TM 10-1563 2½ ton 6x6 models CCKW 352 &353 published august 17, 1942:
Serial and operating data plate reads:

Summer -S.A.E. 20
Winter -20W or 10W

TM 10-1269 2½ ton 6x6 models CCKW 352 &353 published january 19, 1942
Serial and operating data plate reads:

Summer -S.A.E. 20
Winter -20W or 10W

This plate offered on ebay belongs to a EARLY closed cab truck, so no 1943 open cab blah blah blah!

Only thing wrong with the set of plates offered is that they are not a matching set. Publications and warning for driving thru wires must be left away for closed cabs. For open cabs the operating data plate is to early!

Back up your statement. If you read the link, the plates ARE WRONG. The text above is a DIRECT QUOTE from another user, btw.

Keep it up though.. we'll either pound the knowledge into your head or you will learn to RESEARCH your answers before spouting off with your drivel.
