From what I have learned the 25Amp Pos ground is outdated, the majority used 40Amp pos ground.

The early CCW CCKWs had 6v 25A positive ground systems. In late42 early 43 the electrical system was standardized on 6V 40A Negative ground. So if you have an early CCW or CCKW then you would need the proper 25A positive ground generator and regulator to be 'factory correct'.
There were other electrical system changes.. but this is the FOR SALE forum... the GMC electrical forum is a few lines up.

One could learn a lesson from history, many CCKW parts were made obsolete by improved parts to ensure reliability, why install out dated parts that were made obsolete, when you can have an authentic WWII Truck with reliable WWII official upgrades.

Incorrectly.
The move from the early civilian 25A positive ground system to the 40A negative ground system in early 43 was a standardization issue, not a reliability one. The Ordnance Dept did not want to have to stock unique parts for every vehicle. So a standard of 6V positive ground 40A was instituted.

And the GM generator would not fit non GM trucks for several reasons that is explained in GM and ordnance publications and is known to knowledgeable GM spoecialists.

If one is going to lead a group, he must set the example. It is a long learning curve as these vehicles have 68 years to catch up on.

Correct, the ground polarity was changed from positive to negative.
As far as the 'GM generator not fitting no GM trucks'.. the specific generator is not the issue. The issue is that the generators were increased in current capacity (from 25 to 40 amps) and the ground polarity was switched from positive to negative. There are plenty of vehicles that have type specific generators. But after late 42 the Army standardized on NEGATIVE ground for the CCKW, as part of an overall standardization process.
