Interesting steering wheel

Very interesting steering wheel. Note at the bottom the hashes. These were carved into the wheel so the drivers would know if they are going straight during night time driving. I do think the owner has the wheel 180deg out, as the hashes would generally be at the 12 o'clock position, not 6.

Also, all wood steering wheels were painted OD, not varnished, polished or natural. OD.

It can't be, there is only one keyway. That is one nice wheel.

Or simply the wheels are not straight ahead.

A by the book wooden steering wheel is painted OD.. including the wood.

I also spy a passenger side mirror through the passenger window. So demerits for that also.

No production CCKW came off the line with mirrors on both sides. Period.

Also the horn button cap is missing.

Its interesting how a picture can be be so revealing when one takes the time to look at what is presented.
