Sweetwater is the thing.. for now.
Posted: Thu Sep 22, 2016 11:58 amSo I figure its time for an Orange Mico Terror 20w hybrid amp. A 12AX7 preamp tube and a solid state power amp. Always gets good reviews. So I check GC and find a used OMT for $79!!! Its about a 2 hours drive.. meh, lets ship it all of 100 miles.
So I log in, add to cart, select shipping. $38 shipping fee! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. Its a 2lb amp that is smaller than a toaster. There is no way this is right. Call store, talk to sales droid. $38 is what the computer is telling them. I tell them to look at the amp and explain to me how that is $38 to ship. The USED amp would be $79+38= $117 PLUS used gear has no warranty. I could drive and get it but that's $125 with gas and tolls. Thanks, but no thanks.
So I go to Sweetwater.com. They have used OMT for $119 WITH FREE SHIPPING and 2 year warranty!!!

I really liked GC... they had some deals.. but their used shipping is just plain retarded. And it cost them a sale, and probably a few more in the future.... I'm eyeing a Bugera head/cab and every store on the planet lists them at the same price. Sweetwater comes with a 2 year warranty... GC you gotta pay for those 2 years of coverage.
