Small photo dump of Hong Kong
This is the 'famous' ferris wheel at the Star Ferry port. Really that's all that's there. There is a museum (was being renovated when I was there) and a few shops at the terminal.. but mostly just the ferries. Takes like 10 minutes to cross the bay. You do get some good views of the rich side of HK.
To the left of the wheel you can see the HSBC HQ. One of the richest men in China is in there.. somewhere. Also the locals will blather on about the stupid cannons on the top of the building. No, not real.. fung shue and appeasing the locals is why they are there.
The large building on the far right is a shopping mall. There's an Apple store in there. BFD.
One of the tourist traps.. there are a few of these junks you can ride on.. They are diesel powered. Just take the star ferry.
Famous church built by the Brit's way back.
This photo and the next where taken from the Victoria Point observation deck. Rich mofo's live there. The view has to be excellent.
Night view of HK from Victoria Point. This is looking North at HK and Mainland China.
Standing at the tip of Nathan Road looking North. The Star ferry terminal is behind me.
HK was all right. China lite. English is common, lots of western food in the stores.. compares to a Tier 1 city on the mainland. ULTRA rich and poor all tossed in together. I've never seen so many Tesla's in all my life.
