Found the right tool for drake drum removal!

Post by pfarber »

I know, Harbour Freight is evil, but they had the exact tool I needed to remove the countersunk screws that hold the brake drum onto the axle. None of the local parts shops had anything in the size I needed.

For all of $10 they are a bargain for a set of 4. This is the 2nd largest.

The item number is 96329 and are available at: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/d ... mber=96329

I'm sure the fancy name brand guys (Snap On, MAC) have the same thing for like $30.

Here is a tool I found for the removal of the countersunk screws on the brake drum. They fit 1/2 sockets and fit the screw PERFECTLY. Just be careful to keep the socket parallel to the slot or the thing pops right out.
