It that time that I tune up my guitar and play the 'I need a hydrovac or a rebuild kit' blues.

I both the late single piston and early dual piston 'vacs now... so any kit would help.

VoV seems to have parts... they are on the list to email/call.

They seem to have a bit of a history with antique vehicles... will be calling them Monday.

Will have to take off the single piston I have and see it they can take it. I have a massive Third series spare.. but I think that master cylinder may not have enough CC's to actuate it...

Took a single piston vac off one of the Chevys and guess what I found.. or kinda found:

DECAL!!!

I will compare the fragment to the decal images I have.... but you can see some colors, and text. Gotta like little surprises like this... would have been nicer if the decal was complete.. but I have one more vac to look at.. maybe more decals will be found.

Well, good news and just news.

No one is rebuilding the single piston Series II vac's. BUT I did speak with a hydrovac shop that would be willing to look at getting the parts made (the poppet valve and diaphragm are the parts that are the problem), the seals and rubber/leather parts are not the problem. So if I ever get about 10 people (or even hydrovac cores) together I have someone who is at least willing to look at getting stuff made. Interesting tip: the 'third series' (with the control valve on the face of the canister) still use leather seals (wow!) but they do not use hydrovac oil (or shock absorber oil) anymore... they use a silicon grease that lasts forever (well, long enough) and does not dry up. Who knew??

The gooder news (ha! invented a word!) is that its less than $300 to my door. That's core charge and all.

Once I get the brake lines from VoV and the 'vac I guess a thread about adapting a hydrovac is in order.
