I don't believe that any G506 has an exhaust mounted oil filter, and the carb/governor are 90deg off. The intake looks right. Also, that spacer between the carb and governor should not be there. I have both a civvy and numbers correct military intake the civvy one has the stud mount perpendicular to the engine. The military one parallel. I'll post pics later on.

It looks to be an actual G506 motor (you get a peek at the oil pan as he walks up to it) just got some civvy parts that don't belong.

Actually the manifold mounted oil filter is correct for his truck. I talked to him when he was trying to determine "correct", as he wanted to replace some of the parts his engine builder installed. His is an early "Y" model truck, and used a civilian oil filter not the firewall mounted filter used on the later "N" series trucks...

"Unlike later styles of the 1940's and 1950's, this filter was not mounted to the intake manifold cross runner forward, or rear of the manifold heat stove. It used the same brackets as the L-1 which mounted directly to the face of the manifold heat stove. " "It attached to the horn mount on the manifold in the front, and to the intake/exhaust manifold at the rear."

The method of mounting to the exhaust with U-bolts is a post war thing.

It's minor point... but if you have any actual photos with the mount as in the video it would be interesting to see.

Its not the same as the early mount, which from the article I cited, states that it mounts to the horn mount and heat riser.

I have not found any pics of the early Y model engines with a filter. Would be interesting to see an original.
