Local Shops are CRUSHING big box stores

Lowe's wants $45.17 for 100ft of 12/2 12ga ROMEX wire.

Local electrical supply (Denny Electric... kinda a regional chain) wants $36 ($0.36/ft).

I may have to drive an extra 10 minutes... but for $10 or so its worth it.

I'm not sure how or why I always associated big box stores with the best prices.... but on quite a few things I've needed in the past few weeks I have been pleasantly surprised at how wrong I was.

The Home Improvement gods must be smiling on me... went to the electrical store and got an 'end of the spool special'.... more than 50ft 12/2 Romex for $18

YES!

Not sure what I said to the counter guy... but when he asked me how much cable I needed I said 'about 50ft or so' then he offered 'whatever was left on the spool... was more that 50ft.
