Scrap prices.. WTF?!?!?!

So I had about 360lbs of steel to scrap. Last time I sold scrap I got $10/CWT (100lbs). Check this shit out:

$3/CWT. THREE GOD-DAMN-DOLLARS.

Yeah.. tell me about all these people selling the truck for 'scrap' an making a ton of money. Not in 2015.

I feel your pain! I recently scrapped a small pile of stuff left from my son's Firebird project, and my scrap iron pile. I jokingly told the gal behind the counter I wasn't expecting much; that I just hoped for a cup of coffee. Without skipping a beat she deadpanned "I hope you weren't hoping for Starbucks..."

I made not quite $4.00 (yeah, you read that right, 4 measly dollars!!

At 15k (if you cut it and got rid off all the non-steel like tires etc) you would gross $450 LESS the gas to cut it/deliver it and the cost to trash the rubber.... I doubt you would make money on a CCKW at the scrapper.
