So I have a Blackstar HT112 cabinet. Speaker is meh. Needs an upgrade but I'm not down for $200 speakers in a $100 cab. So Sweetwater tells me that Celestion Seventy 80 speakers on sale for $30. They are refurb but have the manufacturer 5 year warranty (same as new).


So a new Severnty 80 is $80 grom GC

Needless to say I jumped on it. GC will sell new AND used speakers... but not refurbished. Maybe Sweetwater has a deal or something... I don't care.. I just want better speakers cheap.

I have since ordered two more speakers since they were still on sale. My goal now is to make a 2x12 cabinet with these Celestion Seventy 80's. The 1x12 sounds great... a 2x12 should be killer.

I plan on a vertical slant like this:

Most likely a burgendy/tan color like I've seen on some Mesa boogie cabs.

Plus I'll get to buy some cabinet making tools!
