The GMC, Universal truck book is out of Print, (I have two) but it sometimes shows up on E-Bay, Nabholtz is retired, sold his photo collections, there is an index to Army Motors, and some back issues are available, Bryce Sunderlin has a lot of GMC photos that he did not include in his articles, and there ain't enough of me to do all the stuff I have already been asked to do. Sorry, but my stuff will have to sit on the shelves a while longer.

It begs to question: LIKE WHAT?

The MVPA Archives is a dismal failure. The only people to see anything are the insiders and privileged few who will profit from them. To date, less than a dozen of the prints in the TACOM archive have seen the light of day to 'membership'.

Its sad that people believe the likes of 'Gopan' who say they are up to their neck in 'projects' yet have nothing to show for it.

Other than random postings of minutia and general irrelevance, what have the 'old guard' done to promote CCKWs?

I know I am pretty much an outsider, but I have put up more resources to share than most other sites combined. I read CCKW.ORG and G503.com (the trailer/heavy truck sections) and am in total disbelief of the 'state of the CCKW' community.

I fear these trucks will fade into the fog of history because the community is so impressed with NATO returns that they are considered accurate representations of US Army CCKWs.

A book of NOTHING BUT NATO RETURNS was recently published and not one of those trucks were fit to be called 'restored' or 'preserved' back to US Army standards.

Restoring a CCKW is difficult not only because of the lack of documentation, but also by the 'Gopans' of the world who contribute nothing, yet take credit for so much. Wrong, or wronger.

A museum with a CCKW. Yet its NOT a CCKW. The cargo bed is off an M35.

I have found so many errors with respect to CCKWs that is just plain sad.
